About Us

In February 2006, the Thursday night belly dance class was asked to perform at Whitehawk Pride's Cabaret Night. The performers thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were a huge hit on the night. So much so Julie, the dance teacher, suggested they set themselves up as a community group and apply for funding. With support in setting up from the Whitehawk Inn, BD4U became a constituted group in July 2007.

Funding has come from the Scarman Trust and eb4U Community Grants for workshops, costumes, music and training.

We now have over 50 members from all over Brighton and Hove.

The Committee

The committee meets every four to six weeks and consists of:

Membership Secretary/PR and Marketing Officer – Karen

Meetings are open to all members and anyone interested in becoming a member.
